  • Who is eligible for membership in NCSWGA?
    Any woman golfer who has reached the age of fifty years at the time of application for membership and is a member in good standing of a NC golf facility or LGA, shall be eligible for membership. Should a member terminate her membership in a NC golf facility or LGA, her membership with the NCSWGA shall be discontinued.   • Can members of NCSWGA hold membership in more than one senior women’s association (i.e. Old North State Senior Women)?
    Yes.
  • Once membership has been established, are members allowed to miss annual tournaments?
    Yes, BUT…. The policy states that “a member missing three consecutive tournaments will be dropped from active membership. This member must submit a written request to the Board of Directors if she desires to be reinstated and payment of annual dues for the missing years will be required.
  • How much are annual dues?
    $25
  • My handicap often broaches the standard maximum of 36. Am I still eligible for membership in NCSWGA?
    No. An applicant must have a current certified USGA Index of 32.0 or less at the time of application and at the time of acceptance into membership.
  • If I submit my registration for the annual tournament and find I’m unable to play, will I be entitled to a refund?
    The Tournament Committee establishes deadlines for cancellations with or without penalty.
  • Is there a maximum number of members allowed in this organization?
    Yes, 175 members are allowed.
  • If the membership is at the maximum of 175 members, will my application be placed on a Waiting List?
    Yes.
  • When are the annual tournaments routinely scheduled?
    Every effort is made to ensure that the tournaments are held in the fall months, most always in September.
  • What is the pattern for rotating tournament locations?
    Since the association has divided the state into three regions (Coast; Central; and Mountains) the tournament site is rotated through all regions: Mountains in 2023; Central in 2024; and Coast in 2025.
  • What is the average yardage for the ladies’ tournament?
    4500-4900 yards.
  • Can I request a specific playing partner for the tournament rounds?
    No. All groupings are created by the golf program in current use at the designated course.
  • Is the cost of the practice round included in the tournament entry fee?
    No, but most courses offer the practice round at a reduced rate.
  • What other activities are included during the tournament event?
    A welcome cocktail party; a banquet dinner; and the awards luncheon.
  • Are Gross and Net Winners rewarded with cash prizes or trophies, etc.?
    Currently the winners receive Amazon Gift Cards for their prizes.
